Given the fact that the 2020-2021 COVID-19 pandemic started partway through production, it is yet unclear how the restrictions affected the series proper. The choice to adapt Ryusoulger was made around April of 2019. Īs revealed by show-runner Simon Bennett, post-production on Beast Morphers wrapped around January 2020, but Ryusoulger was still airing and the writers of that show didn't want to release plot-points too early so the writers pretty much had to make things up as they went along with nothing but the raw footage as a reference.

On May 15, 2020, it was revealed that the adaptation would be called Power Rangers Dino Fury. It was revealed as Power Rangers Season 28. However, the official title wasn't revealed at the time. On February 22, 2020, Hasbro revealed at New York Toy Fair 2020 that the next Power Rangers adaptation would be based off the 2019 dinosaur-based Super Sentai season, Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger.
